I purchased this car from

Sloan Toyota
1546 Cottman Ave Philadelphia PA 19111 215-742-9300

My first purchase was a 2018 Toyota Camry lease

On November 30, 2021

I purchased a 2019 Toyota RAV4 this vehicle is a certified pre owned vehicle. I put $5,000 down and pay $475.00 monthly

I have had constant problems since purchasing the 2019 RAV4

I have not had this car a year

the evening I purchased the car I test drove it.

The dealership took the vehicle back to do what they said was detailing it

I noticed a strong odor in the vehicle that was not there when it test drove the car

the next day in daylight I could see a stain in the back seat, the dealership had poured some sort of deodorizer all over the back seat leaving a stain. And the front seat.

I returned to the dealership and they detailed the car , the stain came back and is still there.

In the next few weeks after purchasing the car I could see water dripping from the underside of the car when it was parked.

With in a few weeks the outside temperatures warmed and you could see more water under the car .

The next week you could literally hear water sloshing back and forth when the car would be driven. I contacted the dealership they made an appointment again I was back to the dealership , they inspected the car and said the doors were holding water and parts would have to be ordered to fix seals in the doors. This meant yet again I would have to be back at the dealership.

I again at this time mentioned the odor of in the car and car vents when the heater or air condition was in use. The dealer assured me they had changed all the filters in the car. I mentioned in just the few weeks I had the car the trim on the driver door came off they never fixed it. Since I had to be back at the dealership I asked if they could check the front end of the car. When I would break at any stop sign there would be a sound in the front end. They assured me rotors and breaks were new and I should have no concerns the vehicle is safe. My son is in auto mechanics and he had heard the sound when breaking, he said sounded like the tie rod or suspension

I found the following information

Toyota has issued a recall for a small number of 2019 and 2020 RAV4s and RAV4 hybrids in the U.S. due to a faulty front lower suspension arm that can crack and separate from the front wheel, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall covers 9502 of the crossovers, all of which were built in September or October 2019.

September 6, 2022 I get in my car to school shop and it’s literally raining in my car. The water leaked in
behind driver side and passenger side A pillar trim where air bags are located. The leak stained the ceiling material and the front seats. I have photos of leaks.

I contacted the dealership, sent pictures. They made an appointment.

I showed up for the appointment and was told there was no technician to do the work nor did they have a technician the following week to do the work.

The service department said they had no idea why an appointment was made.

Again I’m inconvenienced to show up at your dealership and not get service on the vehicle.

I was then informed that no leaks are covered in the warranty, I said this is a certified vehicle he said that does not matter no water leaks are covered. I mentioned the odor and the service department said well that can definitely be from the water leaks.

Service department said to check with my car insurance.

He said he would make an appointment for the next Wednesday , the appointment was never made. The dealership has not looked into this leak.

Hi, we have also had issues with Carl Hogan Toyota. In December my fiancé and I were going down Hwy 12 and our breaks went completely out. We were able to get the car stopped finely and so I started researching what could have caused it. I called roadside assistance through our insurance company and 2 days later they came and took the car to the dealership. We talked to Nicki and she explained to us that that same week they just issued the recall on the breaking assist on 2018 Camry. Turns out there was only 1 other complaint but the recalled anyway. They had the car for 4 months and we never could get in touch with anyone from there. Finely when we opened a complaint, Nicki called and said we need new tires because ours has “flat spotted”. He explained that we couldn’t afford them and asked them if they should be responsible instead bc the damage to the car happened on their lot. They insisted we bring the loner vehicle back to them within a few hours even though we explained to them we were out of town working. When we were able to return the vehicle some guy named James Cypress runs out and starts yelling at me and makes us leave the lot. I’m disabled and he said I wasn’t his problem and made us walk off the property without our car (they claimed they fixed) nope!! Not fixed. Now the car leaks oil and the gas gauge doesn’t work. The car has since died on us 3 times going at a high rate of speed. We can’t get any help from them either. Now they claimed a total loss on the loner vehicle on our insurance. They wouldn’t even do an assessment in front of us or tell us the damages to the vehicle they said we did. Do you have any suggestions on what we could do to get some help with this?

There is no way to escalate a complaint above the level of an independently owned Toyota dealer's Customer Relations Manager. I had a potentially life-threatening service negligence error (failure to tighten lug nuts, discovered after driving 750 miles and noticing 2 lug nuts missing and many others able to be turned by hand several turns). I can't find anyone in Toyota USA Corporate to discuss this apparent problem with their Service Policies & Procedures.

Hello,
My 2020 Prius has 11,000 miles. The rear sensor fell in, I have my own video to prove it, the technician wants to charge me $500 to remove the bumper and if he feels this is my fault I will pay an extra $300 to replace the sensor. The piece is defective since the other sensor on the rear corner is about to fell inside. I spoke to the North Miami dealer before going on this site but they are ignoring my request to fix it since it is under warranty. I feel disappointed and frustrated!!! they lied to me twice and they ignored my request. I need a solution from Toyota headquaters! Thanks.

You owe me $275 for a payoff on my 2019 RAV4 lease. On 8/02 you mailed a check for the above Amt.
after numerous calls was told check was in mail. I called today 8/18 and was told that they had the wrong account Address I don’t believe this for one moment. I received quite a bit of mail from Toyota at my current address so I don’t understand where they supposedly bad address originated from so today I was told that they issued a new check and should receive it in 7 to 10 days. I don’t enjoy being lied to I have been a loyal customer ofToyota since 2013. If no check by August 28 I’ll be sending another complaint to Toyota headquarters again.
