  3. I want to thank 2 employees in the optical Dept of the Modesto, CA Costco for their excellent service. Ernie and Rebecca, were so helpful in finding me glasses that fit, I bought four pairs. Ernie ordered every pair in my size so I could have a choice, something that my local Turlock Costco has never offered, in fact they have said they get what they get, obviously that isn’t true at all Costcos. Both these employees are very knowledgable and helpful.

  5. OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HONESTY. On 10 February 2017 I had 4 new tires installed on my light truck at the Helena Montana COSTCO. During the installation of the tires the rims got damaged due to over torquing. The tire person Dave Vangepleg and Jeremy Smith call me in to explain what happened. Apparently the book that they use for torquing
    The wheels called for 200 ft lbs of torque which was too much. They actually showed me the book that required this torque. These guys took excellent care of me in correcting the problem and moreover preventing it from happening again to another customer. They told me that they elevated the problem to corpperate to get the torque books changed. What impressed me was they replaced the rims and then had it sent to the Dodge dealer to have it checked at no cost to me. They said I couldn’t have the vehicle until it was checked out by the dealership. Their concern for my safety on the road was first.
    This kind of customer service is rare today and was very refreshing. Dave Vangepleg
    And Jeremy Smith both went above and beyond for great customer service. I believe that they both should get some kind of recognition from the corporate office at COSTCO. I have told all my friends and neighbors of the great service I got from COSTCO. Very happy customer

  6. 2/23/17 – I very rarely write review but I needed to vent and let this out. Incredible how rude some of the employees are here at the Miami Lakes Costco. I forgot what it was like to be treated like a customer that spends tons here WEEKLY! I went to the customer service desk because I had made a mistake in using one of my credits cards. I was told that I needed to see a manager and I asked where I can find one and she said in the front. I went to were she specified and I asked Karen F. E. Supervisor if she can help me, I told her that I was told I needed to see a manager to void the transaction and re-ring it to use the credit card I was supposed to use originally. With the nastiest attitude she told me she wasn’t a manager. Then asked for my membership, I told her if she’s not a manager then can she please call on for me. She asked for my membership again and I said no. Then I saw a gentleman and noticed on his ID said F.E. Manager. Adrian was very polite and I told him what was going on and he told me it wasn’t a problem and he would take care of it. When he told Jose what he had to no Jose, cashier, started rolling his eyes and nodding his head as if I was wasting his time. I felt so small and wanted to cancel my membership and boycott Costco for life! Luckily, Adrian F.E. Manager was helpful and understanding. He apologized for the other individuals body language and eye rolls. However, I believe both of them should be spoken to about their behavior. It is uncalled for! You’re working with the public which means you’re going to deal with this kind of stuff on a daily. No need for the attitude. This is why the world is the way it is, because of people like this. I will be phoning cooperate in regards to this matter.

  7. I want to express my dissatisfaction with your Costco Auto program. I was looking to purchase a Nissan, filled out the Costco car info and a Nissan dealer contacted me from Valley Stream, NY. Getting there would have been a 3 hour round-trip drive without traffic. Needlesss to say, I declined going that far due to the possibility of multiple trips back and forth. Your process leaves much to be desired and the experience has been a disappointment.

    It would be an expression of goodwill on your part, to provide me with a complimentary membership renewal next November since under the circumstances I was unable to receive the savings I have hoping to get through your auto program.

  8. I have been a long-time, loyal Costco customer. No more! I trusted Costco when I signed up for Ameriprise Insurance. Big mistake. They have raised my rates every year and this year they raised my HO policy 47% and auto policy 32% AND my wife have EXCELLENT credit with no claims. After a month of trying to get Costco to help me – even the director of services, John Conlon let me down. They just don’t care. Look up reviews on Ameriprise before you even consider them for insurance. They get ONE STAR out of 120 reviews on Yelp. Costco’s glory days are over.

As I sit here on valentines evening at almost 7:30 pm, the online order of valentines gift flowers has still not arrived, I had pre ordered this on feb 4 from the online Canada store and now have nothing to show for my gift. I can’t believe this, it has ruined the day and is now a waste of money , even if it does show up( the day is over) I am extremely disappointed and will never purchase a time sensitive item from Costco again. I was really thinking 10 days would be enough time to get it right.

  10. I just purchased a $5000 set of diamond earrings from Costco and since they refused to provide an appraisal I took them to a local diamond appraiser. The diamonds were supposed to be VS2 or better turned out to be a considerably lesser quality of SI, Also, the color was supposed to be I color but turned out to be J color which is lower quality. I contacted Costco customer service and was told to return the earrings. They offered to sell me another pair but told me even though they CERTIFIED the diamonds to be of VS2 or Better and I color or better that they would simply ask me to return them if my diamond appraiser found them to be of inferior quality. I asked them if they would check the replacement diamonds to make sure they were what they Certified them to be and was told NO, they would not do that. I am surprised and angry that Costco misrepresented their diamonds just to make a sale!! and then refused to make it right!!

  11. I currently was offered an opportunity to receive $50.00 in products or merchandise for completing a survey. I normally do not bother with thing like this. How so ever because it was Costco I took the time to complete what was asked of me.When I found out what was offered me it was four or five items that I had no use for. The one item that I would have possibly considered was out of stock, (Imagine that) As I then found out it seems you are no different from all the other scams.At this point I will no longer doing business with you or your affiliates, Our company cards are going to be canceled. I was surprised that you are no better than the rest, I expected more. Maybee that’s my fault. I Have raced horses for 42 years, our stable employees only a few dozen people, but I will be making it a topic of conversation how disappointed I am with your technics

  12. I was at Costco in Issaquah and was shocked to see two men putting containers of food into an incinerator at the back of the store. Chicken, blueberries, muffins. Surely those items could go to a place that feeds the homeless. Such waste is shocking. Isn’t there something the community could do to transport this food to those in need??

  13. My husband and I just want to call out the incredible kindness we received from one of your employees. Last Monday the 23rd we were driving on 360 here in Austin when my Mercedes started heaving and failing. We barely made it to the side of the road and, though relieved my husband realized that we did not have our cell phone. We had barely gotten out of the car when a good samaritan saw us, stopped his car and backed up to see if we needed help. Jim lent us his cell phone so we could call AAA and then, when we were put on hold for 15 minutes stayed with us. We started talking and I knew he looked familiar. Turns out he’s a retired nave vet who works in membership at our local Costco (4301 W. William Cannon Dr., Austin, 78749). I got to tell him how I got my husband to switch from Sam’s after reading an article about how well treated the employees are. He explained that the employees are really happy and all very hardworking, that it’s a real team effort.
    Just thought you should know that Jim Palladino, Membership Representative, represents your company in a very favorable light both within and outside of his role. Thanks to him we got home safely, a hero we didn’t want to remain unsung.

Me and my mom have been Costco members for years and sometime last week at the Costco in city of industry 17550 castleton st city of industry 91748 one of the supervisors there his name was caleb was just not treating us with the member service we usually get at Costco my mom wanted to see if he can look up an item cause she didn’t see it and his response was “if you notice I’m busy I’m using the computer if you didn’t see it we probably don’t have it ” i don’t think he knows what member service is so coparte if you see this can you please talk to that supervisor that’s not any way to ever talk to someone

    Worst Costco ever. Customer service zero service . Our last 2 visits there were nightmares. Got insulted by Ourshina the cashier ,the supervisor and Customer service lady Kathy .
    The visit before my sister got hit hard with one of the shopping carts ,pushed by One Costco member ,they let this person go , ask us to file accident report ,and on the second visit when I asked what happened with the report thay said if my sisiter was not to the doctor to get medical help then she is fine and they are not going to do anything but if she ends up in the hospital then what ? She has been experiencing some back lately possibly because of the accident I guess we might need to get not only a doctor’s opinion but lawyer’s as well.
    Especially with such a bad Comstumer service and taking only Visa and Debit cards ,they will go underwater sooner than they think . Way to go Costco . Do not wish good luck.
    I will be cancelling my membership.
    I did some research, Sams club offers almost the same things ,better prices and deals and takes any credit cards.

  16. I would like to praise Aaron Werner for his complete and undivided attention to my problem.
    He is an employee who has all the qualities of being a perfect employee. He helped me with my problem within in minutes where other Customer Service Reps. promise it was fixed, but were not. This gentlemen deserves a raise or promotion.

  17. I just had a horrible experience with Costcos bank of the Internet. do not ever use them for home mortgages a refinancing. You are responsible for doing all of your own paperwork it was a huge hassle and after 3 people looked at my credit and promised me a specific rate in even lot 2.75 percent, told me know they could not give me the rate that they promised me…. worst experience I’ve ever had in my life

  18. I love Costco and have been a loyal customer for a few years with zero complaints but the new credit card arrangement is turning into a fiasco. I’am diligent in paying off all my monthly bills entirely to avoid extra finance charges and fees but recently I’ve seen charges of interest on my bill for purchases on the account well before the bill is due. I recently bought about about $35 worth of gas and was charged a fee of about $3.50 on the purchase. That’s a 10% surcharge on my purchase and not a pleasant billing development. It makes no sense in having a % cash back award if the credit card vendor representing Costco is charging a surcharge on sales and purchases. I don’t know if other customer realized this on their bill but I quickly did.

    Hopefully this issue is quickly resolved by Costco. In the meantime I will use other payment options and be disgruntled about not racking up the annual cash back award.



    1. J Stroman, I had charges to my new Citibank credit card when I paid the bill off in full two times. I had to call Citibank and have it removed both times. Therefore we do not use the card anymore.

    2. J. Stroman, I had a similar experience. Was 2 days late in paying Nov bill. Was charged a $25 late fee and then interest on carried Balance for next 60 days. I checked with citi bank and found that is standard policy. Charges were dropped when I pitched a fit but this is a nasty secret. Will use the card for Costco purchased only

    I wanted to return my king mattress with two full mattresses today at Costco .. but they refused because I returned mattresses before and I’m making Costco loose money !!!!!
    While I have ten years warranty
    I called this #(866) 660-7800.. and they assured that I can return them and take my money back !!
    Because I have ten years warranty ..

    I bought them before two years
    First I can from overs seas and don’t know the sizes here in USA
    I bought two twin and one queen
    I changed them with
    One king and two full..
    The second time the spring boxes of the two full sets were low from one side for both so I rented a U-Haul and I change them for that reason.

    Now the king size is causing me back pain I don’t feel comfortable when I wake up .. and kids too..

    Today I was really disappointed of how the manager speaking with me about the money so what is my warranty for !?
    Im really disappointed this is the first time someone makes me cry because he said the word ( abusing) to me because i want to return the mattress!! And making him lose money!

    1. Israa, A warranty is for a manufacturing defect. If you do not like the product within the first 30-60 days, by all means return the mattress. If you selected the wrong sizes because you do not know US mattress sizes – just think about what that costs Costco. Costco is not able to resell returned mattress – for any reason. So your mistake costs them hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. At some point you need to take personal resonsibility for your purchases. You are abusing the system, and yes, you are costing Costco lots of money.

  20. I don’t know if you are aware of this or not but your credit card company, CITI Bank, is one of the main shareholders, supporters of the Dakota Access Project in North Dakota. People are boycotting any businesses that are connected to this project. In fact when asked to get a CITI card when I was in your store I almost went ahead and got it and then realized who it was with and didn’t. As people connect this they may not use the card or boycott Costco for ‘supporting’ DAPL. Just a heads up. I don’t know how far most people will go in their support of the water protectors.

  23. I have a complaint I would like to bring to your attention regarding your store located at 14555 Valley Center Dr, Victorville, CA 92395. At the main entrance of this store there is a wall that extends or protrude in such a way that it blocks customer’s view of the on-coming traffic, when they leave the parking lot. This wall is situated around a curve. The cars on the street are coming fast around this curve. This wall is approximately 6ft. to 8ft. long by 8ft. high. It lies at a 90 degree and perpendicular to an existing wall. I would like to see this small section of wall taken down because its just a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt in an accident. It is an accident waiting to happen. The solution is simple, but its a matter that requires your attention.

  24. It was so ridiculous experience with Costco CORPORATE personnel when approached for help. I had been an executive member for past 12 years and today had a situation that I could not go and my wife went to Chantilly Costco, VA. Every time we both go. She is the secondary member on my card until two years back when my daughter started college I switched my wife’s membership to my daughter. However today, when I called the store manager asked for help by allowing my wife to do the shopping because I was held up with my work and tomorrow being a holiday. However the store manager bluntly rejected my request reading me the rule that she has to be a member on my card. I told him that I never had this kind of situation during my past 12 years and I requested him to allow my wife today only. But of no use. Then I called the corporate office and talked to different personnel including some supervisors. Again they read the same rules that the manager has told me. I do not understand what kind of customer service this is. Do we appreciate that they are strict followers of the rules? Then if everything goes well 100% what is the use of Corporate office and the store manager. The corporate office personnel are more than happy to cancel my membership than asking their own store manager to allow my wife for one day.

    Other competitors are better than this. Even though we are not their members at all, they allow us to do shopping for one day. Even I got 90 days of free membership.

    1. Sastry, fraud is the reason why corporations have these rules in place. These rules are in place to protect you the customer from fraud.

      To whom it may concern,

      I was recently in a Costco North Carolina location and I was denied any purchases from your store because I was not on the cardholders account. Before I go any further, I understand that your company has policy’s in place for a reason and I can respect that. However we have been customers of yours for years, spent thousands there I’m sure. I was trying to do a favor for my 75 year old mother and spent an hour finding everything she needed only to come to this upsetting conclusion. I asked the manager if she would call the cardholder to authorize this, I also showed her my license with the same last name as well as the debt card I would be using with the cardholders name on it. I was again denied. The member was very upset by this news and is questioning whether or not to continue doing business with your company. I am pretty frustrated myself, I am a young man myself and the items I was attempting to purchase did not appear to benefit me in any way. In other words I wasn’t purchasing flat screens or computers. It was paper towels and chicken broth. I mean really…get over yourselves, its not that exclusive. Your prices aren’t even that great…My Mother will be contacting the store herself, but I just thought I would let someone know that our experience with your store sucked, and that YELP is a powerful thing. I know a powerful corporation may not care of the ramblings of a random customer, but the public listen to each other and value the opinions of other citizens. That’s it, have a nice day…


  26. I was on my facebook page and popped up and said to win a $300.00 coupon, just complete a survey. I completed the survey and it said i won the $300.00 and that I would receive a notification by way of email and I have not received anything as of yet. I have 15 of my friends asking me if this is real. What do I tell them??

    1. James, I think it’s probably fake. If it sounds too good to be true, it’s too good to be true. They probably tell everyone that they have won. Just guessing!
